1. Information Collected by the Developer
The developer does not collect your personal information or medication data. DosePoint has no account system and does not ask for your name, phone number, email address, or other identifier. It includes no advertising, third-party analytics, crash-reporting, or cross-app tracking SDK.
2. Local Data and Optional iCloud Family Sharing
Data that you enter or generate is stored in DosePoint's local app container by default and may include:
- Profile names and avatars;
- Medication names, images, doses, schedules, and reminder settings;
- Taken, late-taken, skipped, or missed dose records;
- App settings, purchase-entitlement status, and locally generated reports.
DosePoint has no developer-operated medication-data server. Except for the optional Family Share described below, the app does not transmit this medication data to the developer or third-party services. Whether an iOS device backup includes app data is controlled by your Apple device, Apple Account, and system settings, and is handled by Apple.
When you choose to create a Family Share, DosePoint stores sharing records in your Apple iCloud / CloudKit private database and makes them available through the shared database only to participants whom you invite and who accept the invitation. Shared content is limited to the selected profile's name, today's taken and scheduled counts, medication names, dose-confirmation times, and missed-dose status summaries. It does not include medication images, full history, exported reports, or backup files. Invited participants have view-only access in DosePoint. The profile owner can stop sharing and revoke their access.
3. System Permissions and Apple Services
- Notifications: Used to schedule and display medication reminders on your device. Notifications are scheduled locally by iOS and may be disabled in System Settings.
- Camera and Photos: Used only when you choose to add or replace a medication image. Images remain in the app's local container.
- iCloud / CloudKit: Used only for Family Sharing that you choose to enable. Apple provides this service, and the relevant users must be signed in to their Apple Accounts. Apple systems and terms govern the storage, transfer, and account security of private and shared records. The developer cannot read users' private or shared records through a developer-operated server or developer dashboard.
- In-App Purchases: The one-time unlock is handled by Apple StoreKit and the App Store. The developer does not receive your payment method, billing address, or full Apple Account details. The app obtains transaction and entitlement status from Apple to provide and restore purchased features.
- Files and Sharing: Encrypted backups and PDF reports are generated on your device. When you export through the system file picker or share sheet, the file is saved or sent to a destination you choose and is then governed by that destination's privacy practices.
4. Security, Retention, and Deletion
DosePoint data remains in the app's local container by default. You can delete medications, profiles, and related records inside the app, or remove the app to delete its local container. If you created a Family Share, stop sharing in the app first to revoke participant access. Related iCloud app data can also be managed through the system settings and account tools Apple provides. Removing the app does not automatically delete records already stored in iCloud. Backups or reports exported outside the app must be deleted by you from their saved locations.
Encrypted backups are protected by a PIN you choose. The developer cannot access their contents or recover a lost PIN.
5. Sale of Data, Advertising, and Tracking
DosePoint does not sell personal information, display third-party advertising, use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), or track you across apps or websites.
6. Children's Privacy
DosePoint is not designed to collect personal information from children. Because the developer collects no user data, using the app does not provide children's personal information to the developer. Minors should use medication only under guardian supervision and professional medical guidance.
7. Medical Disclaimer
DosePoint is only a reminder, logging, and organization tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide diagnoses, prescriptions, dosage adjustments, or emergency medical services. Always follow your doctor, pharmacist, and medication label. Contact local emergency services in an emergency.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date on this page. If a future version changes the scope of iCloud Family Sharing or adds a developer-operated server or third-party data service, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy information before enabling the relevant feature.
